My name is Paula, I’m the lead counsellor and founder of Moods-Matter therapy.
I believe through the process of counselling you can feel supported in a confidential, trusting safe space to voice your worries and concerns.
I feel privileged to listen, hear and support others in their journey of restoring balance back into their life.
Many people seek therapy when they are at a time in their life when they are feeling lost, low, vulnerable or experiencing difficult challenges and want their life to change for the better.
I provide a confidential safe space for you to explore and understand your thoughts and feelings, helping you to identify the small steps you need to move forward.
I am very passionate about the difference that can be made in early intervention and how therapy can support and help Children, Young people and Adults to manage and cope with current issues and concerns, as well as, assist you to identify your own resilience and develop coping strategies and techniques to use with issues or concerns you may face in the rest of your life.
I’m an experienced Adult and Young Children/Adolescent Counsellor, focussing in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Person Centred, Humanistic, Psychodynamic approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
I specialise in working with individuals with Anxiety, Depression, Panic attacks, Low self-esteem, Lack of confidence / Self-worth, Stress related issues as well as working with clients experiencing Bereavement, Family or Relationship issues, Separation, Abuse, and many more concerns clients may present in sessions.
As well as working with Adults, I also work with children from the age of 6-18. My therapy uses a combination of tools and techniques such as; Talking therapy, Play therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt therapy, Mindfulness and Solution focused therapy to ensure that we can get you to a place and point in your life where you’re feeling better and are able to move forward in a positive direction.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, with non-judgement, and I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where my clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings openly, and where they can develop the skills and tools they need to thrive.
